Position Overview:
The Patient Financial Advocate plays a crucial role in assisting patients with eligibility for financial assistance programs. This position involves direct interaction with patients at healthcare facilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support for their financial needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site assessments of patients to determine eligibility for state, county, and federal assistance programs.
- Initiate application processes at the bedside whenever feasible.
- Identify individual patient requirements and guide them through the enrollment process for relevant assistance programs.
- Maintain regular communication with patients regarding their application status and available services.
- Document all patient interactions and screening results accurately in the designated systems.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to identify self-pay patients and facilitate their access to financial resources.
- Perform home visits as needed to assist patients in understanding their eligibility options.

Additional Duties:
- Foster positive relationships with hospital personnel across various departments.
- Report significant occurrences to management promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Keep an organized workspace and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred experience includes three years in medical coding, billing, or relevant healthcare roles.
- Customer service experience is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods is necessary.
- Flexibility to work during holidays or irregular hours may be required.
