About the Role

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a highly skilled Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate work-related incidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
  • Develop mitigation measures and corrective actions to reduce the risk of hazards.
  • Conduct or facilitate training and education programs for supervisory and field employees.
  • Administer recordkeeping and documentation for compliance with safety training policies.
  • Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and technical instruments are fit-for-purpose and functional.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of Electric Utility Safety Coordinator experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Knowledge of substation safe work practices and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs, risks, and benefits of potential actions.
  • Ability to actively listen and use logic and reasoning to identify solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BCSP certifications and OSHA 500/510.

Work Environment

This role operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting. The ability to work in inclement weather conditions is also required.
