Recovery Support Coordinator Job Summary

Gateway Foundation is seeking a skilled Recovery Support Coordinator to provide support to individuals in recovery for substance use disorder treatment. The successful candidate will facilitate motivational conversations and group sessions to help clients achieve treatment goals and understand actions needed for successful recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate motivational conversations and group sessions with clients to help them achieve treatment goals and understand actions needed for successful recovery.
  • Assist clients transitioning from outpatient services to the community by serving as an example of living in recovery and identifying resources, services, and support groups to be used in facilitating the transition.
  • Serve as a member of the treatment team by monitoring client behavior and reporting client observations, incidents or unusual occurrences; contribute to decisions regarding treatment plans, conflict intervention or privileges.
  • Complete appropriate assessments, including Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) assessments with clients who meet the criteria outlined in grant. Collect and compile all relevant assessments from the team of Recovery Coaches. Develop various community partnerships and relationships and assist with outreach, events, and mentoring and make appropriate referrals and recommendations.
  • Provide clients with information about Gateway's alumni program, events, and local support groups and other recovery activities.
  • Organize and/or attend community events, educational workshops, and support groups to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorders and mental health issues.
Requirements:
  • Eligible for CRSS designation (achievement already preferred but must achieve within 90 days of placement in this role).
  • Basic knowledge of physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning level of the client population.
  • Basic knowledge of substance use disorder treatment services and/or familiarity with treatment programs.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple assignments, and complete work within specified timeframes.
  • Communication skills to gather and exchange information verbally and in-writing.
  • Interpersonal skills to assign work to others, explain and resolve complex billing and payment issues, and to provide follow-up.
  • Analytical abilities to review and audit bills and accounts, establish billing specifications, and identify errors, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, and knowledge of billing systems.
