We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and witness environmental testing, crane lifts, and physical moves of hardware to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Inspect assemblies for paint and coating application to ensure adherence to documentation and industry standards.
- Witness testing of mechanical support equipment and validate successful completion of tested configurations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Process Library to ensure accurate and efficient inspection processes.
- Perform basic dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
- Create and maintain First Article Inspection Reports to document inspection results and identify areas for improvement.
- Support Government and/or Customer Source Inspections, both on-site and remotely, as required.
- Inspect incoming or production materials and articles for conformance to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Perform incoming testing of components to ensure compliance with design or test specifications and standards.
- Accept or reject materials or articles, documenting non-conformance and notifying appropriate personnel of potential rejection.
- Refer unusual inspection problems to Supervision, Lead, or Program Quality Engineer for resolution.
- Apply and enforce accept/reject criteria and revision status from engineering drawings, MIL-specs, screening specs, or process certification training.
- Perform adhesion and polymeric inspections, including staking, bonding, and encapsulation, using up to 10x magnification.
- Basic knowledge of inspecting Cable/Wire Harness Assemblies is required.
- Inspect per IPC Certifications: IPC J-STD-001 with Space Addendum Soldering for Operators & Inspectors (CIS), Assembly of Electronic Assemblies (IPC-A-610), IPC/WHMA-A620, Requirements for Cable & Wire Harness Assemblies.
- Work with devices/hardware that are Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive.
- Witness or monitor functional/performance testing from piece part to end-item level.
- Obtain and maintain all certifications required for assigned tasks.
- Troubleshoot inspection problems related to hardware, software, drawings, documentation, or processes.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Requirements- High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years or more related experience or a related 2-year technical degree.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
