Hardware Test Engineer

Position Overview:

The EMG Wrist Wearables team at Facebook is in search of a Hardware Test Engineer to enhance their capabilities. This role is designed for a test engineer with a strong focus on hardware, possessing experience in developing Python scripts for the testing of electronic devices, automation of tests, and data acquisition. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in creating Python code for testing electronic devices and should be adept at gathering data related to power consumption, sensor readings, thermal performance, and overall device efficacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient and scalable Python scripts for the automation of hardware testing.
  • Gather and analyze device power and performance data.
  • Create back-end components to enhance responsiveness and overall system performance.
  • Review and validate modifications to existing software to rectify issues, adapt to new hardware, or enhance performance.
  • Design and oversee software system testing and validation protocols, including programming and documentation.
  • Enhance the functionality of current systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to comprehend user requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Practical experience in Python programming (minimum of 2 years).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and capability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with circuit boards, processors, electronic devices, and both hardware and software components.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in computer engineering with experience in hardware interaction.
  • Experience in analyzing power and performance data, including data analysis and visualization (Python).
  • Knowledge of robotics.

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required.
