Power Electronics Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD. As a key member of our Power Conversion Technology Hardware Design community, you will work with other engineers to develop state-of-the-art power supplies and power products for military applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop power supplies and power products using simulation and analysis tools
  • Perform technical trade studies and worst-case analysis
  • Provide manufacturing support for hardware builds and develop Acceptance Test Procedures
  • Mentor and train less-experienced engineers on power supply design
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar STEM field
  • 12 years of relevant work experience or Master's degree with 10 years of experience
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, MathCad, MATLAB Simulink, and power supply design
  • United States citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Secret clearance (or higher)
  • Familiarity with power supply EMI/EMC filtering and design
  • Digital control experience and active power factor correction design experience
