Job Title: First Line Leader

At National Guard Employment Network, we are seeking an experienced First Line Leader to join our team at the Midland Automotive Adhesives & Fluid Unit in Midland, Michigan. As a First Line Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly employees in the production of glass bonding materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise an hourly production team of 11 employees
  • Model and drive high standards of employee morale, ethics, and respectful treatment and behavior
  • Ensure operational discipline and standards are properly adhered to consistently
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities
  • Provide communications up and down the line and for assuring that communications from team members are accurate and complete
  • Track and improve plant reliability performance (TEEP/OEE)
  • Responsible for responding to personnel, operational and safety and environmental incidents
  • Manage performance related to absences and time management for direct reports
  • Conduct performance and development reviews for all team members
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing and hiring activities
  • Participate in Root Cause Investigations
Requirements:
  • Associates degree (or greater) OR High School Diploma AND equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing which includes knowledge and processes supporting SHE, Quality, PSM, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement systems and tools
  • Computer knowledge and skills in applications such as Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Demonstrated competency in Building Winning Teams, Coaching, Championing Change, Driving for Results and Mobilizing Resources
Preferred Attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject
  • 5+ years relevant chemical manufacturing plant experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in a union environment
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified
