Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Eligibility Worker/Human Services Specialist 3 to join our team at the Oregon Department of Human Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for determining financial eligibility for various programs, including Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF. Your strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine financial eligibility for Oregon Department of Human Services programs
  • Process applications, including new and re-certifying applications
  • Determine eligibility correctly and in a timely manner by following complex rules and policies
  • Refer applicants with additional needs to appropriate agencies
Requirements:
  • Two years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program
  • Strong ability to communicate with diverse groups and individuals
  • Experience interpreting and implementing policy and procedures
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information
