Job Title: RN Charge Nurse/Shift Coordinator

Children's National Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN Charge Nurse/Shift Coordinator to join our Neuroscience Unit team. As a key member of our patient care delivery team, you will be responsible for directing the activities of nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct the activities of nursing staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with unit leadership to plan, manage, and evaluate unit-based clinical care.
  • Participate in the performance appraisal process for all staff.
  • Implement change with a positive impact and demonstrate strong leadership in a team environment.
  • Partner with all team members to achieve goals and demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • 2 years of nursing experience (Required)
  • 1 year of recent pediatric experience in a comparable setting (Required)
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia (Required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate therapeutic communication skills.
  • Ability to educate patients and families and facilitate learning opportunities for staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
