About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to lead our team as a Charge Nurse/Shift Coordinator on the Neuroscience Unit. As a key member of our patient care delivery team, you will be responsible for directing the activities of our nursing staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities:- Participate in planning, managing, and evaluating unit-based clinical care to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with unit leadership to develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
- Assess and modify skill mix and staffing levels to meet patient care needs.
- Function as a resource for patient discharge planning and clinical issues.
- Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to meeting patient care needs.
- Demonstrate therapeutic communication skills and provide performance feedback to staff.
- Ensure patient/family educational needs are met and facilitate learning opportunities for staff.
- Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- 2 years of nursing experience (Required)
- 1 year of recent pediatric experience in a comparable setting (Required)
- Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia (Required)
