POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a qualified Clinical Laboratory Technician to support our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of laboratory processes, ensuring accuracy in charge submissions and managing accounts receivable efficiently. This role involves preparing financial analyses and operational reports, as well as auditing existing procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Timely updates of all fee structures and procedural codes.
- Clear and concise communication of information.
- Collaboration with billing companies to address and resolve denial issues.
- Preparation of status reports and weekly utilization summaries regarding volumes and charges.
- Adherence to compliance guidelines and patient confidentiality standards.
- Acting as a resource for physicians and staff on coding and reimbursement policies.
- Educating team members on new policies and updates to existing regulations.
- Development of payment schedules based on patient circumstances and resource availability.
- Thorough assessment of patient situations to provide appropriate responses.
- Verification of patient insurance information and benefits through daily schedule reviews.
- Regular reporting to management and seeking intervention when necessary.
- Interaction with vendors and contractors related to billing and collections.
- Assistance in reviewing deposits to ensure consistent cash flow.
- Participation in procedural reviews related to charge submissions and accounts receivable management, recommending improvements.
- Ensuring timely follow-up on charge submissions and accounts receivable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and have 3-5 years of relevant experience. Strong multitasking and prioritization skills are essential, along with effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing submissions and analyses is crucial. Familiarity with medical terminology and standard office equipment is required.
