About the Role

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with our team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, passing instruments and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Stock and manage surgical supplies, maintaining accurate inventory and ordering as needed.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a cardiac OR setting, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
