As we operate around the clock, we provide various shift options, including Day, Evening, and Night shifts, with the possibility of 10 or 12-hour shifts. A willingness to be on-call on a rotating basis is essential. You will collaborate with esteemed Doctors, Surgeons, Registered Nurses, and other healthcare professionals throughout the facility. Responsibilities

A typical day for an Operating Room Specialist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Preparing the surgical suite before procedures
2. Ensuring surgical supplies are adequately stocked
3. Verifying the functionality of surgical machines and equipment
4. Assisting in the transportation of patients to and from the operating room as needed
5. Providing instruments to surgeons during operations
6. Supporting minor medical procedures

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Compliance with NJ requirements under the Surgical Technologist law
- BLS certification is mandatory
- 1-2 years of experience in Cardiac OR is highly preferred
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech Program and certification as a Surgical Tech
- A minimum of 1 year of surgical scrub experience is preferred
- National certification is an advantage
- Must be a self-motivated individual who works well independently
- Strong time management and prioritization skills are essential
- Ability to multitask effectively
