Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA Certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on planning and supervising various audit and review engagements.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP required, familiarity with other frameworks such as IFRS is advantageous) and professional standards (US GAAS and SSARS required).
  • Strong research and writing abilities, coupled with excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in auditing employee benefit plans and/or Uniform Guidance is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proficiency in technology, time management, and effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • A proven track record of developing and maintaining profitable client relationships.
  • Prior involvement in peer review and internal inspection processes is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client engagements, directing the auditing of financial statements, disclosures, and deliverables across various industries.
  • Oversee multiple engagements, including team staffing, planning, and scheduling.
  • Approve risk assessments, engagement work programs, and time budgets.
  • Facilitate the training and development of team members, providing guidance and constructive feedback on work papers.
  • Review significant engagement findings that may raise questions regarding audit approaches or accounting principles.
  • Examine financial statements, notes, schedules, management letters, and tax returns for discussion with clients.
  • Prepare evaluation reports for team members and participate in performance review processes.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and professional competence, staying updated on relevant professional standards.
  • Encourage ongoing professional development through continuous education.
  • Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in educational programs.
  • Monitor engagement budgets and profitability.
  • Approve the issuance of assurance deliverables.
  • Identify and assess technical accounting matters early in the process.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to deepen relationships and understand their goals.
  • Provide insightful business advice, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Proactively address client concerns as they arise.
  • Identify additional work opportunities beyond the initial engagement scope, obtaining client approval before proceeding.
  • Represent the firm at various professional events and functions.
  • Assist in business development initiatives.
  • Manage client billing and all aspects of the client relationship.
