As a Human Resources Specialist with the Army National Guard, you will play a vital role in supporting the careers of our Soldiers and ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed.

About the Job

The primary responsibility of an HR Specialist is to provide personnel support and assistance to all divisions within the Guard. This includes organizing and maintaining personnel records, data entry and retrieval, processing recommendations, and arranging awards ceremonies.

In this role, you will also be responsible for preparing and updating requests for evaluations, monitoring Soldier requests for ID cards and tags, leaves of absence, and passes, and maintaining office supplies and filing systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist on all human resource support matters
  • Oversight of all strength management and strength distribution actions
  • Responsible for the readiness, health, and welfare of all Soldiers
  • Postal and personnel accountability support
  • Maintain emergency notification data

You will also be building a better future as an HR Specialist, with opportunities to transfer your skills to civilian life. In many businesses, payroll, timekeeping, and human resources departments require the kinds of skills acquired in this role.

Earn While You Learn

Instead of paying to learn these valuable job skills, get paid to train with the Army National Guard. You will receive 10 weeks of Basic Training and 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction.

This training will teach you basic typing skills, how to prepare Army correspondence and forms, manage personnel records, and computer update and retrieval procedures.

Requirements include military enlistment in the Army National Guard, being at least a junior in high school or having a high school diploma or GED certificate, being between the ages of 17 and 35, passing a physical exam and meeting legal and moral standards, and meeting citizenship requirements.
