Project Manager

The Project Manager is a key member of the Hernandez Construction & Development team, responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects from start to finish. This includes managing and coordinating all necessary project resources and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and communicate with the project team, including field supervision, subcontractors, and vendors, to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Represent Hernandez Construction & Development with owners, architects, consultants, government authorities, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Administer financial aspects of the owner's contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Review and validate project schedules, budgets, and milestones, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs, including project schedules, shop drawings, and document control.
  • Work with preconstruction to set up and execute trade buyouts, ensuring scope coverage and coordination with project schedules.
  • Attend project meetings, chairing as necessary, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage requisitions and payments, ensuring collection of lien releases and maintaining optimal cash flow.
  • Deliver project documentation, including manuals and warranty documents, to owners and manage the warranty process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent business judgment, with a proven track record of achieving profitability objectives and strong project close-outs.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and a command of contract and legal provisions.
  • Ability to analyze and execute financial trade-offs, often with incomplete data and ambiguity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to take decisive action and handle conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent diplomatic and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with working knowledge of Procore, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.
