Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Tenneco. This role is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to general maintenance and equipment repair throughout our facility in a safe and productive manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct maintenance activities on utility systems to ensure a continuous supply of heat, electrical power, gas, or air required for manufacturing operations.
- Support equipment installations, moves, and modifications as needed.
- Utilize knowledge of pneumatics to plumb in air supply, troubleshoot valves, cylinders, and general equipment.
- Apply knowledge of electrical systems to run primary service to equipment, troubleshoot control circuits, and efficiently use a meter.
- Read and follow manuals, blueprints, electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic prints, and other written instructions.
- Operate equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and work instructions related to quality and product standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and requirements, reporting accidents, near misses, and/or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor/manager.
- Collaborate with other maintenance workers to determine the best course of action for required tasks.
- Cross-train on a variety of equipment, interpersonal skills, and technology as needed and/or directed by the supervisor or manager within the department.
Requirements for the Position:
- 5-7 years of prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and professionally influence individuals, internally and externally, across all levels, functions, and geographies.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability, including the use of tools, meters, etc.
- Good work history, including attendance.
- Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
- Physical capabilities to perform all duties required.
