Orthopaedic Care Specialist

OrthoCincy is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Assistant to join our team. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional orthopaedic care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support to our medical team, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care and attention.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with patients and visitors in a respectful and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Prepare the clinical area and patients for medical procedures.
- Record and update patient information, including medical, surgical, family, and social histories.
- Perform clinical duties such as order entry, phlebotomy, injection draws, and application of DME.
- Provide patient education and support as per provider protocol.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene needs and transfer patients with ambulatory issues as needed.
- Clerical duties such as paperwork, faxing, and scheduling patient appointments.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers.
- Maintain clinical quality assurance standards and adhere to the medical assistant scope of practice.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical certification and one year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of OrthoCincy's Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Knowledge of electronic health records.
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of medical practice care, anatomy, and terminology.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.

Medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
Mental/Physical RequirementsStanding and walking 90% of the time. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to remain focused and attentive without distractions. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
