Orthopaedic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthopaedic Technologist to join our team at OrthoCincy. As an Orthopaedic Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting providers with patient care by preparing and applying casts and durable medical equipment.

• Apply and remove casts and fit durable medical equipment on patients
• Operate the cast saw safely and efficiently
• Maintain adequate casting supplies and equipment
• Inspect and maintain autoclaves, cast saw vacuums, and other equipment
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist with patient brace/crutch fitting and product education
• Contribute to the delivery of healthcare and patient care management
• Maintain accurate patient information in electronic health records
• Provide patient education and support as needed
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Registered/Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Orthopaedic Technician certification
• Two to three years of previous clinical experience preferred
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred

• Knowledge of electronic health records and practice management systems
• Knowledge of body mechanics and patient safety
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This role will be based in a medical office and exam/procedure room setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds and use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making patient transfers and assisting with walking, dressing, etc.
