Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical/Cabling Engineer to join our team supporting the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand combat system specifications and the General Specification for Overhaul (GSO).
  • Report to the Senior Design Engineer/Integrator.
  • Determine the correct cable type required to support equipment being installed based on Aegis specifications and the GSO.
  • Identify the proper connectors and back shells for electrical/cabling.
  • Develop and provide the Cable Impact Statement and Cable Run Sheets to support delivery of the TDP.
  • Provide all required information to the Senior Design Engineer/Integrator to develop the Cable Block Diagram in the TDP.
  • Assign cable numbers to every cable and maintain Configuration Management of the cables.
  • Provide options and alternatives for cabling when required.
  • Provide Power Sourcing requirements to support delivery of the TDP.
  • Develop Power Point presentations as required.
  • Lead or participate in ship checks to accomplish cabling/electrical surveys to support TDP development.
  • Participate in meetings and phone conferences when required by the government sponsor.
  • Assist in the resolution of cabling issues occurring on the waterfront during equipment installations.
Requirements
  • Strongly prefer a Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in the relevant field and 10+ years of shipboard electrical engineering or related experience (or 15+ years of experience without a degree).
  • A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger Navy and Marine Corps Sector.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer candidates with the following experience: Cable Engineering, Cabling Design, Electronics Systems.
