Job Summary

We are looking for a certified Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care and support our respiratory team. As a Respiratory Therapist 1, you will be responsible for administering respiratory therapeutic interventions, establishing and managing mechanical ventilation, and collecting specimens and performing diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities
  • Administer basic respiratory therapeutic interventions, including gas/humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway management.
  • Establish and manage basic mechanical ventilation with moderate proficiency and occasional supervision.
  • Perform weaning mechanics as ordered and review the need for continuing ventilator support.
  • Collect specimens and perform basic diagnostic testing, such as EKG, sputum collection, and bedside spirometry.
  • Display accuracy in interpreting diagnostic and monitoring data, including spirometry, CXR, culture and sensitivity, and blood gases.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support from AHA upon start.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
