Job Summary

DMC Receiving Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Michigan, seeks a highly skilled Central Sterile Processing Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our surgical services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate the preparation of surgical instruments and supplies between the OR and Central Sterile Processing to ensure timely availability.
  2. Assist in special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient care.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service and support to hospital personnel and outside vendors.
  4. Perform daily audits of completed and post-op case carts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  5. Participate in education and training programs to promote knowledge and skills in surgical instrumentation and medical supplies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, with five years preferred.
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician through CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse hospital personnel and outside vendors.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments, cleaning and sterilization processes, and medical supply management.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working evenings, with a shift schedule of 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. You will be based at DMC Receiving Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
