Role of the Machine Assembler:

As a Machine Assembler at SDC, you will be tasked with interpreting mechanical blueprints and assembling all machine components with precision.

A solid mechanical foundation is advantageous, and comprehensive on-site training will be provided to equip you with specific skills for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct custom machinery in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Focus on mechanical assembly, with additional requirements for pneumatic and basic electrical work.
  • Engage in assembly tasks such as mounting, fastening, drilling, leveling, and plumbing of pneumatic systems and other related components.
Collaborate closely with the project team to troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues.
Assist in the machine assembly process through acceptance testing, including potential on-site customer support during installations and start-ups.
Utilize metalworking and cutting machinery for the creation and/or modification of custom components.

Support various additional tasks as needed, including unpacking incoming equipment, preparing outgoing machinery, and packaging.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with methods, tools, and equipment pertinent to machine assembly and mechanical trades.
  • Understanding of the properties and applications of various materials, including carbon steel, tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Proficiency in eDrawings, Microsoft Excel, and Teams is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Capability to understand pneumatic schematics and electrical wiring diagrams is a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds and operate lift trucks and overhead cranes.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
