Job Overview

Thew Associates LS, PLLC is a reputable firm specializing in land and hydrographic surveying and mapping. We are currently in search of dedicated technical personnel with expertise in marine surveying and/or terrestrial surveying.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in executing hydrographic surveying and mapping services across New England. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting multi- and single-beam acoustic surveys, ADCP measurements, magnetometer readings, sub-bottom profiling, and sediment sampling.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • A.A.S. in Surveying Technology, B.S. in Surveying Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in hydrographic surveys or related marine fields.
  • Familiarity with single- and multi-beam sonar surveying techniques.
  • Experience in vessel operations, including trailering, mobilizing, launching, and recovery.
  • Proficient in using Trimble GNSS devices, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
  • Experience with static and RTK GPS/GNSS surveys.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and stay out-of-town as required.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies.
Desirable Skills

Additional experience in the following areas is highly valued:

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D (Release 2019 or newer).
  • Experience with Hypack hydrographic surveying software for acoustic sonar.
  • Ability to process bathymetric data, sub-bottom profiles, side-scan sonar, and magnetometry data.
Additional Information

Candidates should demonstrate strong mathematical and computer skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel. The ability to work independently is essential. Salary will be based on experience, and OSHA training will be provided as necessary.
