Greensboro, North Carolina, United States The Outreach Team Full time
Job Description

About The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team is a leading national field organization dedicated to advancing social justice and human rights. We partner with organizations working to address pressing societal issues and provide them with the resources they need to drive meaningful change.

We are seeking experienced Field Directors to lead our campaign to mobilize voters for reproductive rights. As a Field Director, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of local staff to collect voter registrations in high-traffic areas near college campuses.

Our Mission

We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to reproductive health care and can make informed decisions about their bodies. We believe that restrictions on reproductive health care harm real people and put politics above people's lives. Our goal is to create a society where everyone can live, thrive, and raise families in healthy communities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 10-30 hourly staff who will be collecting registrations for a state-wide ballot initiative
  • Set goals and hold staff accountable
  • Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
  • Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
  • Build a diverse team where staff feel respected, while fostering a culture of equity and justice
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure integrity of the work
  • Go in the field yourself a few days per week to register voters, train staff, and help drive office goals
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
  • Develop strategic plans to reach registered voters in assigned locations
  • Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materials

Requirements

  • Leadership experience, ability to motivate a large team
  • Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
  • Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
  • Track record of equity and inclusion
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
  • Familiarity with VAN
  • Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
  • Facilitation experience
  • Local knowledge/experience

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $1,350 - $1,650 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.

Equity and Inclusion

The Outreach Team prioritizes equity and inclusion. We are an equal opportunity employer and we strongly encourage Black, indigenous, people of color, women, people with previous felony convictions, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and others who identify with underrepresented groups to apply.
