Position Overview:

The Licensed Practical Nurse II is responsible for providing direct patient care through the application of the nursing process. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will identify and address patient needs while adhering to established hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage IV therapies and medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Utilize the nursing process for comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Support health education initiatives for patients and their families.
  • Document patient assessments and nursing interventions accurately and timely.
  • Exhibit proficiency in technical and clinical skills, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities in team settings, facilitating effective communication and prioritization of tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
  • Valid LPN License in the state of West Virginia.
  • Current CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACLS Certification.
  • Experience in an Acute Care Setting, preferably six months to one year.
  • Familiarity with EPIC documentation systems.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Competence in mathematical calculations for medication administration.
