Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse II is responsible for providing direct patient care through the application of the nursing process. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will identify and address patient needs while adhering to established hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage IV therapies and medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Utilize the nursing process for comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Support health education initiatives for patients and their families.
- Document patient assessments and nursing interventions accurately and timely.
- Exhibit proficiency in technical and clinical skills, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities in team settings, facilitating effective communication and prioritization of tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
- Valid LPN License in the state of West Virginia.
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS Certification.
- Experience in an Acute Care Setting, preferably six months to one year.
- Familiarity with EPIC documentation systems.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This role involves physical activities such as walking, standing, and lifting, along with exposure to various environmental factors. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Competence in mathematical calculations for medication administration.
- Proficiency in electronic documentation systems.
