Position: Culinary Support Specialist

We are looking for a committed Culinary Support Specialist to become a vital part of our team at the Forest Hills Community House. This role involves assisting with daily meal preparation, managing kitchen inventory, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dismantle beverage service at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Receive and inspect food deliveries, ensuring proper storage in compliance with health standards.
  • Prepare and present meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchenware, including dishes, pots, and utensils.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of kitchen facilities.
  • Assist in the preparation of fruits, vegetables, salads, and desserts for meals.
  • Provide necessary supplies to volunteers for food service.
  • Manage post-lunch cleanup duties.
  • Offer support across different sites as required.
  • Follow sanitation protocols and maintain a cleaning schedule.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned while adhering to organizational performance standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a similar culinary environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is advantageous.
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively manage tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong attendance and reliability are essential.
  • Must be able to pass necessary background checks as required by health authorities.
