We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to join our Housing and Residential Life team. As a Custodial Student Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residential facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist department staff with deep cleaning and preparation of units for move-in and summer conference programs
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of common areas, including laundry rooms, bathrooms, and community spaces
- Collect trash and recyclables on a regular basis
- Organize supply closets and assist with various housing events and conferencing
- Perform other duties as assigned by department staff
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units
- Availability to work Monday - Sunday between established hours
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
As a Student Assistant with Housing and Residential Life, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the success of our department. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $16.00 per hour and a dynamic work environment.
Please note that this is a temporary position available on or after June 3, 2024, and ending on or before August 31, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
