Credentialing Coordinator Job Description

Metrolina Nephrology is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing Coordinator to join our team. As a Credentialing Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate credentialing of all providers within our practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate initial provider credentialing for all new providers, including gathering and submitting required documents and information.
  • Initiate new provider setup, including credentialing file creation, document compilation, and scheduling of headshots and equipment needs.
  • Maintain provider licensure and renewals as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate necessary training requirements for providers to receive and maintain privileges at facilities.
  • Process all re-credentialing applications for hospital systems and dialysis companies.
  • Track down approval letters and confirmation of privilege status at outside facilities, following up as needed.
  • Assist with the collection, completion, and distribution of peer reference requests from hospital systems and dialysis companies.
  • Maintain individual credentialing files for all providers, including up-to-date working documents and health records.
  • Keep current health records for all providers and distribute as requested or needed.
  • Maintain the CAQH database for providers, ensuring up-to-date information, documents, and attestations.
  • Handle all insurance attestation and document requests, fulfilling insurance carrier requests for demographic and provider database updates.
  • Manage calls and emails from outside facilities for provider document requests and schedules.
  • Report delinquent hospital medical record notifications to relevant providers and the Director of Quality & Compliance.
  • Ensure all relevant licensure is posted at respective office locations.
Requirements:
  • Professional and timely communication with providers and outside partners is essential.
  • Ability to process multiple applications concurrently and maintain forward momentum.
  • Highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and credentialing software.
  • Minimum three years of experience in managed care and hospital credentialing, with a minimum of three years in the healthcare industry.
  • Associates degree in healthcare or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
