The Project Manager plays a crucial role in planning, executing, and delivering projects that meet client expectations. This position involves managing both internal team members and external contractors or consultants to ensure project delivery aligns with established plans. Key responsibilities include defining project objectives, overseeing quality assurance, and maintaining accountability for timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and establish project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Outline project objectives and timelines, effectively communicating them to all stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison with clients through regular communication and lead client meetings.
- Prepare proposals for civil engineering projects.
- Manage a team of engineers, inspectors, and technicians, assigning workloads as necessary.
- Report project status and performance to executive leadership.
- Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of project documentation and reporting.
- Coordinate with clients and external agencies for procurement and jurisdictional reviews.
- Facilitate cooperation among various stakeholders, including upper management and other departments.
- Resolve client and project-related issues effectively.
- Handle client invoicing and track accounts receivable monthly.
- Serve as a resource for complex engineering challenges.
- Develop and nurture business relationships with existing clients and pursue new opportunities.
- Foster a positive work environment by mentoring and coaching team members for professional growth.
- Perform other project and supervisory duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection, management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is advantageous.
- Relevant ODOT/Industry certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills is required; familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoTurn is beneficial.
- Strong communication and delegation skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team.
