LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic

Geisinger Convenient Care is a walk-in clinic that provides quick, convenient healthcare when patients need it. Our clinic treats minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit, including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, urinary infections, tick removal, sprains, strains, and minor cuts. Care is available to anyone age 1 and older. Convenient Care is open 7 days a week.
Job Duties- Provides primary clinical support to the provider, patient, and their family to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition.
- Follows up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing of same in medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Promotes a clean environment.
- Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges on their assigned clinical area.
Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining and documenting patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and providing basic medical data base for provider, and preparing patient for examinations.
- Providing direct clinical care as directed by provider.
- Assisting provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Executing and documenting ongoing patient communication, as directed by provider, prioritizing communication to the provider, responding to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patients' needs.
- Administering medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice.
- Cleaning and setting up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensuring required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
- The Clinic is open M-F 8:45 AM to 8:15 PM. Weekends (S/S): 7:45 AM to 6:15 PM.
- Every other weekend is required.
- Limited travel for potential coverage in another clinic.

Education and ExperienceGraduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
Minimum of 1 year-Nursing (Preferred)
