We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Animal Technician to join our team at Inotiv. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for assisting in the conduct of animal studies, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our research protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and execution of animal studies, including dosing, sample collection, and necropsy procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of study data, including weighing, clinical observations, and health assessments.
- Perform blood collections from animals via various methods, including tail vein, retro-orbital, and terminal blood draws.
- Process whole blood collections via centrifugation for plasma and/or serum.
- Assist in the formulation of experimental compounds for administration.
- Support rodent surgeries, including hemostasis and suturing.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Operate various laboratory equipment, including balances, syringes, and needles, blood collection tubes, centrifuges, pipettes, and more.
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (biology or equivalent) with 1 year of direct laboratory animal work experience, or Associate degree with 4 years of direct laboratory animal work experience, or 6 years of direct laboratory animal work experience without a college science degree.
- Preferred experience with mice and rats, including dosing, in-life sample collections, and necropsy collections.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general laboratory procedures and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive salary range: $55,000-$70,000/year.
