Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing patient documentation, recording treatment plans, and updating dental records
- Operating diagnostic imaging equipment and developing radiographs
- Preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments and materials in compliance with infection control protocols
- Assisting the periodontist during all chairside procedures, including setup, anesthesia administration, and cleanup
- Preparing patients for surgical procedures and monitoring vital signs
- Providing patients with information regarding periodontal health, treatment plans, and postoperative care
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies for periodontal treatments
- Maintaining instruments and equipment for optimal functionality
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of a certified dental assistant program (preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in dental surgical assisting
- Certification as a dental surgery assistant (preferred)
- Radiography certification (preferred)
- CPR Certification
