Key Responsibilities:

The Civil & Foundations Engineer plays a crucial role in executing or verifying the design and analysis of deliverables for CB&I projects, specifically focusing on foundation support systems for storage structures. As experience grows, the engineer will tackle increasingly complex assignments and work more autonomously. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Designing and analyzing both shallow and deep foundations for various steel plate structures, including flat-bottomed cylindrical storage tanks, spheres, elevated tanks, and other specialized constructions.
  • Reviewing and interpreting soil reports to determine necessary soil parameters.
  • Investigating and resolving civil engineering challenges encountered in the field.
  • Engineering design for unique concrete structures, including foundational elements.
  • Establishing engineering requirements for ground improvement and reinforcement techniques to support steel plate structure foundations.
  • Collaborating effectively with drafters, modelers, detailers, and personnel from sales, estimating, operations, and project management.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Structural Engineering or Civil Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Between 2 to 10 years of professional experience in civil structural and foundation engineering.
  • Familiarity with AISC, ASCE, IBC, API, ACI, and relevant structural and seismic codes is essential.
  • Professional Engineering registration is preferred or the capability to obtain it.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
