Job Description

Veolia Environnement SA is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning of Evaporator and Crystallizer units by ensuring process equipment and control system perform per specifications
  • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer's sites
  • Manage activities of outside vendors and suppliers, assuring services and supplies meet project specifications and performance requirements
  • Develop log sheets to document and monitor equipment performance and execute Commissioning Schedules and Performance Plans
  • Develop and execute classroom and hands-on training regarding the operation and maintenance of process equipment
  • Participate in P&ID Reviews, Model Reviews, Engineering Design Meetings and Safety in Design reviews to ensure accessibility, maintenance, and operation of process equipment
  • Perform control system factory acceptance tests with Clients and client-designated after-market services such as site inspection, equipment inspection, and operator training
  • Travel in support of domestic and international trips; anticipated travel 60-70%
  • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within Veolia safety standards
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
Requirements:
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in power plants, chemical process facilities, or wastewater treatment plants
  • Possess basic chemistry knowledge (including water treatment) and communicate that information to others
  • Must know structural, mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, piping, welding specifics, and civil notations
  • Ability to document technical information, strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and ability to write procedures and manuals that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to effectively present information to functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, strong PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures preferred
  • Operating experience with water treatment equipment, including evaporators, crystallizers, reverse osmosis systems, microfiltration, clarification, and conventional

The site assignments shall be in foreign countries and may involve accommodations at remote work camps. Many water treatment facilities are located outside and work activities will be outdoors.
