The Internet Technologies Quality Engineering & Operations team is on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Software Development Engineer in Test to elevate our current automation framework.

Our teams are responsible for designing and developing the essential communication components of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS, specifically for Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications.


We seek analytical thinkers to play a crucial role in validating Apple's software releases and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and possess the creativity and inspiration to devise innovative solutions for enhancing product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Development Engineer in Test, your role will involve implementing a variety of automated tests, including functional, performance, reliability, and end-to-end tests, to support our Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications.

You will collaborate with various engineering teams during the design phase to develop comprehensive and effective tests. Engaging in code reviews and design discussions will be essential components of this role.

Moreover, you will create cutting-edge tools to enhance our testing productivity, troubleshoot failures, and facilitate the communication of results through detailed reports.

You should be highly technical, organized, innovative, driven, and passionate about achieving excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience in software development, tools, and automation
- Proficiency in functional or object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, or Swift
- Ability to define, design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks
- Experience with integrated, end-to-end systems and testing methodologies.

- Familiarity with testing and automating APIs, UIs, and Native Applications
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and tools
- Highly organized, creative, motivated, and results-oriented
- Proficient in refactoring, test automation, modular code, and build infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, with actual pay depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
