Job Title: LPN Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled LPN Supervisor to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As an LPN Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing direct resident care to an assigned group of residents during a shift. You will prioritize the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standard-based framework model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Requirements:
  • Licensure as LPN or LVN, and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
Working Conditions:

Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing service area (i.e., drug rooms, nurses' stations, resident rooms, etc.).

Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents' needs.

Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.

Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.

Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
