Position Summary:
Act as the Network Operations Manager for the Information Technology Support Services contract. This role entails overseeing the performance of systems and networks at key locations to guarantee peak efficiency and situational awareness for military Command and Control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Monitoring: Provide expert oversight for network performance management and monitoring of information systems operations at designated critical sites. Ensure reliability and quality of network transmission.
- Application Management: Administer and troubleshoot commercial applications within the operational environment. Document system outages and perform performance assessments to maintain functionality.
- Technical Assistance: Work collaboratively with stakeholders to resolve technical challenges. Offer system administration support and guidance on network performance enhancements.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and rectify network-related issues, keeping all parties informed. Provide recommendations for performance improvements.
- Upgrade Planning: Strategize and execute network upgrades and enhancements. Maintain records of outages and conduct evaluations of system performance.
- Performance Assessment: Continuously monitor the availability of networks, servers, and applications. Gather performance metrics and identify potential concerns using diagnostic tools.
- Incident Response: Address network incidents and devise strategies for improvement. Ensure thorough documentation of outages and proper notifications.
- System Upkeep: Execute batch jobs or scripts to ensure system reliability. Analyze performance data and propose solutions.
- Collaboration: Work with designated sites for performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Assist with configuration and software installation.
- Strategic Planning: Utilize independent judgment to meet contract objectives. Anticipate user needs and plan system upgrades accordingly.
- Resource Optimization: Manage resource utilization to enhance network availability while minimizing costs. Maintain effective communication with users and external entities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, security, and other relevant protocols. Stay informed on training and certification requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; AND,
- Active CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent; AND,
- A minimum of 5 years of general information technology experience.
Security Clearance:
- Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.
