Plant Controller

Core Responsibilities of the Plant Controller:

  • Manage all financial activities within the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial assessments.
  • Establish and uphold standard costing systems to accurately track and report manufacturing expenses.
  • Analyze production costs, variances, and inventory assessments to uncover opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to upper management.
  • Work alongside plant leadership to create and execute cost control strategies and operational enhancements.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes for the facility.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and processes to maintain accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide financial insights and support to plant managers and various departments.
  • Lead and mentor a team of two accounting professionals, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and growth.

Qualifications for the Plant Controller:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, emphasizing costing and financial analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
  • Proficient in large ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines in a dynamic environment.
