Role Summary

The Production Support Engineer collaborates across various roles and teams to deliver Information Technology (IT) services to the organization, executing the vision of their function. In this role, you will assist in diagnosing and resolving complex incidents, leveraging your knowledge of diverse technology domains. You will identify opportunities to enhance IT designs and provide governance across all relevant IT platforms, offering technical expertise in outage coordination and delivering recommendations for IT problem resolution. Additionally, you will adopt a Continuous Service Improvement mindset to enhance efficiencies and streamline support operations, ultimately reducing risk and enhancing system availability.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support, maintain, and enhance operational environments for multiple applications through technical and business data monitoring, incident management, engineering, automation, change management, and application onboarding. Conduct post-incident reviews for major events
  • Serve as an escalation point for user issues and requests, reporting significant incidents to senior management
  • Develop solutions to minimize manual tasks and mitigate risks through automation (utilizing tools such as Ansible, Control-M, and other orchestration tools) and coding (e.g., scripting, enhancing existing application code)
  • Create and oversee Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), maintaining thorough documentation
  • Facilitate coordination among various technology and business teams during significant change initiatives and major incidents
Your Leadership Role
  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with stakeholders, developers, infrastructure partners, and vendors
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvements to applications in collaboration with development teams, ensuring secure and compliant IT facilities for system operations
  • Enhance and implement business continuity plans
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in application support, preferably within the financial sector
  • Familiarity with monitoring and scheduling tools, such as Geneos, New Relic, Control-M, Autosys
  • Proficiency in Unix, Oracle, Java, as well as scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences and senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud) is preferred but not mandatory
Additional Skills for Success
  • Degree in a quantitative field (additional financial or technical qualifications are advantageous) and ITIL foundation certification (or equivalent)
