Advanced Practice Provider, Department of Neurosurgery

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Department of Neurosurgery. Job SummaryThe APP will play a critical role in the management and care of patients with neurotrauma conditions, working collaboratively with neurosurgeons, medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams across multiple care settings. Primary responsibilities include direct patient care, including evaluation and treatment of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain comprehensive history and physicals for complex, acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Coordinate, review, and follow up on diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and procedures.
- Prescribe medications and ensure continuity of patient care by coordinating communication among inpatient, OR, and outpatient Neurosurgery teams.
- Participate in service-related QI/PI projects, education of learners, and cross-departmental knowledge sharing and skills training.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in nursing or a related field, with a minimum of three years of nursing experience and active Ohio APRN licensure with prescriptive authority. Alternatively, a Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program with a minimum of one year of experience and active Ohio Physician Assistant licensure with prescriptive authority is required.
