About the Job

As a seasoned High Performance Computing Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our high-performance computing (HPC) cluster, storage, and networking infrastructure. This includes integrating HPC systems with Brown's overarching IT infrastructure, deploying and managing parallel file systems, and maintaining system security. Your expertise in Linux systems administration, coupled with your leadership skills, will enable you to effectively manage a team and make strategic decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience with Linux systems administration
  • Lead or supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with research computing environments, RHEL/CentOS Linux operating management, problem resolution, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities
  • Conceptual knowledge of systems architectures, security, networking, storage systems, parallel computing, batch/scheduling systems, and programming languages such as C, C++, bash, Perl, etc.
