About the Role

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a skilled Exteriors Technician to join our Building Systems Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting and repairing roofing systems and building exteriors, as well as performing other duties related to building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair roofing systems and building exteriors
  • Clean window wells and rooftops of leaves, ice, and other debris
  • Complete work orders and utilize an electronic timekeeping system daily
  • Work independently and perform complex duties, including installing and repairing metal flashings, building curbs, caulk, and weatherstripping
  • Determine the need for work, schedule and perform tasks, inspect and diagnose information contributing to facility upkeep
  • Perform roof replacements, including verifying measurements, and ordering supplies and equipment needed to perform work
  • Acquire and perform estimates for projects and maintenance repairs
  • Collaborate with external vendors and manufacturers and provide approval or rejection of contractors' proposals and installations
  • Train, mentor, and verify work of others, contribute to fostering a positive work environment, motivate and encourage staff to improve, and support leadership and contribute to the development and implementation of departmental vision and goals

Working Conditions
