Job Overview

Position Summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a Quality Inspector II to enhance site manufacturing operations through the development, assessment, and ongoing enhancement of processes utilizing quality principles and methodologies. The primary objective is to consistently meet or surpass customer quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints effectively.
  • Conduct visual inspections of products to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Perform inspections and tests on both in-process and finished products.
  • Document inspection findings by completing necessary reports and logs.
  • Identify and isolate all non-conforming products.
  • Compile and summarize reports for non-conforming items.
  • Maintain measurement equipment by adhering to operational guidelines and addressing repair needs.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials to confirm they meet established specifications.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as required.
  • Verify and release products for shipment, ensuring all required documentation is provided as per customer guidelines.
  • Assist with dimensional verification of PPAP and first article components.
  • Develop internal Control Plans in alignment with customer and Advanced Laser specifications.
  • Operate FARO and Micro-Vu measurement systems.
  • Support the production floor by aiding in the interpretation and creation of manufacturing documentation and providing guidance on measurement techniques.
  • Assist with calibration procedures and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated according to site protocols and ISO standards.
  • Lead and mentor Level I inspectors to enhance performance.
  • Identify and implement lean process improvements and project enhancements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and quality expectations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment with a focus on continuous improvement QMS and hands-on inspection.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information in small group settings.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to interpret graphs.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma is required.
  • An associate degree in a related field is preferred.

Work Environment

  • This position involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
