We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Kansas City, MO School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating administrative, technical, and professional work related to capital projects such as construction, renovations, and deferred maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Business Process Flow: Facilitate interdepartmental transactions and ensure accurate and timely processing of all requisitions in compliance with existing policies and procedures.
- Vendor Engagement: Provide technical assistance to suppliers on how to do business with the district using the e-bidding system as well as the district's policies and procedures.
- Capital Project Coordination: Work with Zone Directors and end-users in developing bids/proposals for new construction projects, and develop and prepare for capital projects, Information for Bids (IFB), Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Qualifications (RFQ), and bid documents to solicit competitive bids from qualified vendors.
- Contract Preparation: Assist with contract preparation and ensure compliance with the appropriate guidelines, policies, and approved internal controls.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor the status of capital projects from start to completion, including project delays, liquidated damages, and change orders.
- Bachelor's Degree: In Business Administration, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years of purchasing/accounting/business experience with extensive and broad commodity knowledge with emphasis related to construction on contracts and strong negotiation skills.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, inter-personal skills to work effectively with relationship building, and basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
