Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at TINASH HOMECARE SERVICES LLC. As a DSP, you will provide individualized care and support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities in home or community-based settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Administering medications as prescribed and documenting accordingly.
  • Providing emotional support, engaging in recreational activities, and fostering social interaction.
  • Skill building: supporting individuals in learning new skills, including cooking, budgeting, and personal care.
  • Community involvement: accompanying individuals to appointments, community events, and recreational activities, facilitating their engagement in community life.
  • Transportation: assisting in or providing transportation to and from appointments, activities, and other outings.
  • Documentation: maintaining accurate and timely records of services provided, progress notes, and any incidents or concerns.
  • Health & safety: monitoring individuals' health and well-being, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Advocacy: advocating for the rights and needs of the individuals being supported.
  • Team collaboration: working with other healthcare professionals, family members, and support staff to ensure cohesive care.

Qualifications:

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in healthcare or social work is a plus.
  • Experience: previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not always required; training will be provided.
  • Certifications: CPR and first aid certifications are often required or will need to be obtained upon hiring.
  • Skills: strong communication and interpersonal skills. patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting and assisting with mobility.
