Veterans Outreach Advocate

At Volunteers of America Massachusetts, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Veterans Outreach Advocate to join our team. This dynamic role will play a critical part in supporting the well-being and stability of veterans and their families who are homeless or experiencing housing instability.
About the JobThe Veterans Outreach Advocate will be responsible for establishing supportive relationships with veterans and connecting them to resources that help maintain or obtain permanent housing. This will involve working closely with community partners to identify veterans in need of services and developing strong networks of referral sources.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Perform outreach, engagement, and advocacy in Supportive Services for Veteran Families service areas
- Complete schedules, logs, and reports on outreach activities, including data on referrals, intake, assessment, and disposition/assignment
- Work collaboratively with case managers to identify relevant service categories, options, and priorities
- Develop and maintain linkages and contact with collaterals
- Build a strong network of referral sources to generate a quantifiable flow of referrals
- Participate regularly in team meetings and external meetings as assigned

Requirements:
- BA/AA degree preferred; however, a minimum of 2 years related experience in a case management role may be substituted
- Knowledge of veteran issues, homelessness, and state & Federal resources highly preferred
