Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating ultrasound machines, positioning patients, and selecting appropriate technical factors to ensure accurate images. Additionally, the Ultrasound Technologist will be required to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Adjust factors to attain the appropriate images and ensure safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Sonographer role.
