Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform procedures/studies, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records, obtain necessary clinical information, and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patients, select proper transducers, and adjust technical factors to attain accurate ultrasound images.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images.
  • Maintain accurate records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography.
  • Experience in general, vascular, and cardiac sonography.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
