Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform general and/or vascular procedures/studies under the direction of the Radiologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating results of diagnostic examinations to the interpreting physician and accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all general and/or vascular procedures/studies under the direction of the Radiologist.
  • Communicate results of diagnostic examinations to the interpreting physician.
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient's medical record to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Position patient and select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Adjust factors to attain the appropriate images.
  • Ensure safety, mental and physical comfort of patient.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies.
  • Enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Document billing codes of procedures performed.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
